Community Outreach and Education
Community Outreach is a critical component of the work done at the Children's Advocacy Center. It refers to the efforts made by CAC staff and volunteers to educate the community about child abuse and neglect, and to raise awareness of the services available at the CAC for child abuse victims and their families.
Community outreach efforts in our community include:
Presentations and training sessions for community organizations, schools, and other groups to educate them about child abuse and how to recognize and report it.
Public awareness campaigns, such as billboards, social media, and other advertising, to promote the work of the CAC and encourage community members to seek help if they suspect child abuse.
Outreach to medical providers, law enforcement, and other professionals who work with children to build partnerships and ensure that child abuse cases are handled in a coordinated and effective manner.
Fundraising events to raise money for the CAC and support its ongoing work.
Volunteer recruitment and engagement to ensure that the CAC has the resources needed to provide high-quality services to child abuse victims and their families.
Through community outreach, the Children’s Advocacy Center can help to break down the stigma and barriers that often prevent child abuse victims and their families from seeking help. They can also raise awareness of the impact of child abuse on individuals and communities, and promote a culture of safety, support, and healing for all children.
The Children’s Advocacy Center would love to connect with your school, child care facility, group or organization to provide helpful information and trainings about the work we do, and how your team can make an impact in our community when it comes to recognizing, reporting and fighting child abuse. To request a training, or assistance from our Community Outreach Team, simply complete the form to the right, and we’ll be back in touch.
